PSALM 103:1-5, 10-12
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s…he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Dear Lord,
From my inmost being, from the deepest part of my soul that only You know, I thank you for being with me always. For forgiving me, for continually healing my hurts, for repeatedly rescuing me from the pit of despair. While life is complex, and sin abounds, You renew my heavy heart when it is burdened by sin and sorrow; Your forgiveness and forgetfulness of the sin that has come before gives me strength once again to rise above all that entangles my good intentions. With loving compassion, You use me for Your good purposes. You raise my spirit up into the heavens with You, reminding me I am simply on a journey to my eternal home.
